ST. NICHOLAS CHURCH This sacred and unique architectural monument dates back to the 4th century and it is dedicated to St. Nicholas who is formerly known as Santa Cl Pretty interesting, right? You will see some paintings on the walls that describe his life, and enjoy the historical atmosphere.
MYRA THE ANCIENT LYCIAN CITY The Ancient City of Myra is not far from the Church of St. Nicholas, and this historical place was named by Lycians and it means “Land of the Sun”.
In there, you can view the ancient Lycian tombs, which is a kind of necropolis and enjoy the atmosphere of antiquity. Because these tombs date back to the 4th century BC.
THE ANCIENT AMPHITHEATER DEMRE Today, in Turkey, there are 206 ancient theaters which were built during the rule of Roman Empire.
And the Demre Amphitheater is considered the fourth largest of these noted theaters. It was built in the 2nd century with its 10000-people-capacity!
DEMRE & KEKOVA THE SUNKEN CITY AND KEKOVA BOAT CRUISE In the ancient times, Kekova Island was a part of the mainland and a large city. However, due to the powerful earthquakes, a great deal of this city has sunken, and the second part of the city has turned into an island. Today, this place is isolated from civilization and no one lives here due to its historical significance -it is an ancient site. And this island is one of the most picturesque and famous places in Turkey which resembles Atlantis.

SIMENA FORTRESS KALEKOY Kalekoy Fortress is located in an island that is opposite of Kekova Island. It was built in the 13th century and has been pretty well-preserved since then.
This historical monument is popular for not only for its architectural forms, but also for the unique Roman amphitheater inside of its fortress. In short, you will adore it in and out!
